1. How long have you been performing in NYC?

Dave: DTS has been performing in NYC for 6 years. I performed solo for 4
years prior to that.
Kelly: Since September 1992

2. How does NYC compare to other cities where you've performed (audiences,
venues, etc.)?

Dave: Aside from the money aspect, New York has good venues. Audiences are
with few exceptions a lot of fun. San Francisco and its environs is another
great place for venues and audiences.
Kelly: Well, in Amsterdam they wanted me to bite, instead of autograph, our
CD booklet. I've never had a request like that in NY.

3. What is the NYC music scene's best-kept secret?

Dave: Hell, if I knew, it wouldn't be much of a secret.
Kelly: Dave's True Story

4. What's the strangest experience you've ever had at a NYC gig?

Dave: As a solo performer, I once played on the same night as a guy who
stabbed a pot roast with a butcher knife while singing along to a tape of
one of Charlie Manson's songs.
Kelly: God, how can I beat that? I dreamed we were playing the Bottom Line
and I looked down and I was naked. Does that count?

5. Describe the perfect audience.

Dave: Listens attentively, laughs at the right places, applauds wildly while
throwing panties and twenty dollar bills onto the stage.
Kelly: Perfectly silent and adoring while I'm singing, laughing
uncontrollably at all my jokes while throwing fifty dollar bills onto the
stage.

6. Where do you go to listen to live music?

Dave: Fez, Bottom Line, Living Room, Ear Inn, Zinc Bar, CB's Gallery,
Parkside Lounge & Den of Cin, to name a few.
Kelly: The Living Room, Fez, Arlene's Grocery, The Bottom Line, CB's Gallery

7. What do you love about New York?

Dave: Years ago I saw the Scorsese movie After Hours and wished my life were
more like that. Then I moved back to New York and for the first few years,
my life was a lot like that.
Kelly: It's home.

8. What do you hate about New York?

Dave: Crowded streets, idiots on bikes, Giuliani and not enough Starbucks.
Kelly: It's home.

9. How has New York shaped you as an artist?

Dave: It has crushed my spirit and robbed me of the will to live.
Kelly: I no longer take %$#? from anybody, anywhere because I'm right most of
the time.

10. What are your favorite things to do in New York?

Dave: All the things I used to enjoy doing in this town have been outlawed.
Kelly: Movies, museums, music, food, friends.
